Each Micronation listed below is rated from "1" to "5," in brackets (e.g. (Please e-mail me at [email protected] you have any suggestions or corrections to make.) Criteria I used when evaluating each Micronation were: Duration of its existence, whether it had any publications, coverage in the news media, how many people were involved, internet presence (either by having its own web site or being referred to in some article on the web), whether or not it announced its presence to government authorities.
This list and includes all Micronations which have come to my attention, past or present, active or defunct, and which a) are not contained in Strauss's book, and b) I've chosen to include.
I am not materialistic, I beleive that we are put on this earth to enjoy life. We provide brief information on the best evidence for the existence of each item, and an estimate of each item's abundance during this period.This list is meant to serve as a quick summary ; future editions of Northwest Journal will look at items in more detail, in articles similar to 'Seed Beads in the Northwest', 'Tents in the Northwest', &c.Beaver Club members), and are especially concerned about presenting an historically typical look.This list is the first word on this subject, not the last word!
